Dear Fellow Members,  The recent months have been among the most challenging and difficult times our credit union and our country have ever faced. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Directors and I are in awe of how our associates have shown adaptability and resilience in finding new ways to serve our members while supporting one another. Now, we are faced with a different, but unfortunately, all too familiar issue impacting the communities that we serve.

American Heritage Credit Union has partnered with 17 regional credit unions and credit union partners, jointly raising more than $220,000 to collectively purchase and donate 30,000 Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) medical gowns to healthcare facilities throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

American Heritage Credit Union, in partnership with the American Red Cross, recently hosted three blood drives, which featured more than 110 donors each donating a pint of blood. Based on American Red Cross estimates, as many as 330 lives will be saved as a result of these blood donations.

On Wednesday, April 22, American Heritage employees completed the sorting, packing and delivery of PPE facemasks to fourteen local hospitals in its Workplace Partner Program. Upon completion of sorting and packing efforts, a caravan of American Heritage vehicles left the Credit Union fourteen hospital partners, where they were greeted by nurses, physicians and administrators.

American Heritage Credit Union, in response to major community needs of blood and personal protective equipment (“PPE”) donations, is facilitating donations of both supplies and blood to local partners in the coming weeks. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, American Heritage has been committed to the safety of its members, workplace partners and communities, contributing both financial relief as well as donation of supplies, buildings, and volunteers.
