American Heritage Credit Union is once again awarding 30 high school seniors a $1,000 scholarship to ease the financial burden of higher education expenses.  American Heritage Credit Union’s Scholarship Committee will select the 2022 scholarship recipients based on their scholarly merits, community and school involvement, a letter of recommendation, and a submitted essay describing how applicants view diversity, equity, and inclusion and its importance in the workplace and our communities.

Eligibility requirements for graduating high school seniors include:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on transcript
  • Have been formally accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college, university, trade, technical or business school
  • Be a member in good standing of American Heritage since April 1, 2021
  • Cannot be an employee or family member of an American Heritage employee

The Scholarship Program honors American Heritage’s Chairperson Emerita, Cecilia B. Grady, who served on American Heritage’s Board of Directors for over 40 years. American Heritage’s annual scholarship program represents her dedication to financial literacy, education, and community outreach.

“The cost of a higher education increases year after year, and in most circumstances, it’s a necessity to receive additional aid or scholarships to assist with the cost,” states Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage’s President & CEO. “In addition to high inflation, our future community leaders are coming out of school with more debt and financial burdens than any generation before them. This is one of the reasons we offer our Scholarship Program for our younger members, to ease the cost of their education in however they see fit and to support their career aspirations. I encourage all qualified student members to apply!”

The application period begins February 1, 2022 and ends on March 31, 2022. Students interested in applying can visit AmericanHeritageCU.org/Scholarships to begin the application process or to read the full list of submission materials or eligibility requirements.
